The multinational biological inputs company Lallemand presented three bionematicides, Onix, Rizos, and Lalnix Resist, during the 2024 Brazilian Congress of Nematology (CBN).

According to the manufacturer, each product has ″unique characteristics and specific modes of action, offering farmers effective tools in managing phytoparasitic nematodes.″

Lallemand highlighted that Onix is formulated with the microorganism Bacillus methylotrophicus (strain UFPEDA 20), and its key feature is the ability to ″act on multiple fronts.″

On the other hand, Rizos is formulated with Bacillus subtilis, and its main feature is the formation of a protective biofilm around the plant’s root system. ″This mechanism makes it difficult for the pathogen to recognize the host, reducing juvenile penetration,″ Lallemand pointed out.

According to the manufacturer, Lalnix Resist, developed with Trichoderma endophyticum, stands out for its versatility in modes of action and application.

″Acting in various phases of the phytoparasitic nematodes’ life cycle, it utilizes parasitism, the production of metabolites, and enzymes such as chitinases and proteases to reduce nematode populations,″ explained the multinational. Additionally, the company noted that Lalnix Resist ″induces resistance in plants, making them more resilient to future infestations.″

They said, Lallemand is a company that ″recognizes that each area has specific needs and that each farmer is unique, customizing our management approach according to demand.″

During the 2024 Brazilian Congress of Nematology, the multinational bioinputs company reaffirmed its ″commitment to Plant Care, offering solutions for both major and specialty crops.″

″The company aims to provide farmers with more responsible agriculture, combining tradition and innovation in its practices,″ Lallemand summarized. To achieve this goal, the company relies on an approach that ″values the interaction of microorganisms with plants, promoting more responsible agriculture.″
