ADAMA exclusively announced to AgroPages the launch of Gales (Imidacloprid + Bifenthrin), an insecticide designed for managing Sphenophorus levis

Rapahel Malandrino.pngThis pest is a significant threat to sugarcane cultivation, damaging the plant's ratoons and reducing the time required for canefield renewal, becoming the sector's primary concern.

With the launch of Gales, ADAMA has strategically entered the sugarcane insecticide segment in Brazil. ″The product is a combination of two ADAMA-exclusive active ingredients, offering farmers practicality and enhanced performance in controlling Sphenophorus levis, eliminating the need for tank mixing,″ highlighted Raphael Malandrino, ADAMA’s Insecticides Product Manager.

″Producers will have an important tool to control the pest that has been causing sleepless nights for the sugar-alcohol sector in a market with very few alternatives,″ Malandrino said.

He said, in addition to Gales, the company is announcing a ″cycle of insecticide launches for the sugarcane crop over the next three years, strengthening its commitment to innovation and delivering differentiated solutions to farmers.″

According to ADAMA, Gales ″stands out as an alternative aligned with the requirements of Brazil’s regulatory bodies.″

″The technology offers practicality in management and superior performance compared to traditional mixtures, providing a reliable solution for the challenges faced by producers,″ Malandrino emphasized.

Brazil is the world's largest producer of sugarcane, and in the 2023/24 harvest, production reached 713.2 million tons, an increase of 16.8% compared to the previous harvest, according to the National Supply Company (Conab).
