One more glyphosate leading enterprise joining bio breeding, registrations to be granted to bio breeding-oriented herbicide one after another

On May 30, 2024, the 6th batch of pesticide product to be granted registration in 2024 was announced, which is also the third batch of announcement of grant of registration concerning bio breeding in China. Among the 87 pesticides in this batch to be granted registration, Fuhua Tongda Chemical’s glyphosate isopropylamine 41% AS is expected to be granted registration for Dai Bei Nong’s three transformants - DBN9004, DBN9858 and DBN9936, covering two crops, which are soy and corn. This is also the third batch of registration in China concerning bio breeding, which is the first time grant of registration with respect to bio breeding to Fuhua Tongda, demonstrating Fuhua Tongda Chemical’s involvement in development of bio breeding-oriented herbicides.

According to data, Fuhua Tongda and Australia Nufarm set up a joint venture in China to take charge of distribution of agricultural materials and agricultural technical consulting service. The joint venture is named Leshan Nongfu Trading Co., Ltd, which also concurrently sells Nufarm’s products, including Nufarm’s glyphosate isopropylamine 41% AS, with the trade name of Kleenup, as well as glyphosate potassium salt 50% AS, with the trade name of Bendafeng. In addition, Nufarm possesses glyphosate TC registration certificate in China. With the grant of registration this time, the company is expected to quickly learn and replicate Nufarm’s overseas bio breeding-oriented weeding experience.
