XIN YINBANG: Prothioconazole TC granted registration in Brazil, saflufenacil project underway

In May 2024, prothioconazole technical of Chinese agrochemical company Shaoxing Shangyu Xin Yinbang Biochemical (Xin Yinbang) was granted registration in Brazil. It is reported that Xinyinbang is already in possession of registration and production license of this product in China, having been granted registration of prothioconazole.tebuconazole 40% SC, as issued by ICAMA.

Prothioconazole is a highly effective broad-spectrum triazolethione fungicide, with the mechanism of action of inhibiting the 14-demethylation of lanosterol which is the precursor of fungal sterols. This kind of fungicide is significantly effective in control of a variety of fungal diseases in cereal crops, including powdery mildew, gibberellic disease, sheath blight and rust. In addition, prothioconazole is effective in control of soil-borne diseases in rape and peanut as well as major foliar diseases such as gray mold, brown spot and black spot. Due to its high activity, broad spectrum and high safety, prothioconazole is widely used worldwide in a variety of crops, such as wheat, soybean, rape, rice, peanut and sugarbeet. In particular, prothioconazole.tebuconazole 40% SC has an outstanding effect of control of wheat scab, powdery mildew and rust, being a single agent that can control multiple diseases. 

The successful registration of Xin Yinbang’s product in the Brazilian market will make for the company’s business expansion in the region, which will become a key market of development of Xinyinbang.
