Valent U.S.A. releases Annual Sustainability Report

Valent U.S.A. LLC announced the release of its fiscal year 2022 Sustainability Report on Oct. 4, 2023. The comprehensive report reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and its contributions to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure and Responsible Consumption and Production.

Valent, and its parent company Sumitomo Chemical, have held a long-standing commitment to environmentally responsible practices and the promotion of sustainable agriculture. The release of this year’s report comes as Valent celebrates its 35th anniversary and reinforces the company’s pledge to align its operations and innovations with the global sustainability agenda.

Notable Valent highlights from the fiscal year 2022 Sustainability Report include:

• The launch of the Sustainable Solutions Criteria, a new, third-party reviewed product assessment framework with specific criteria that enables the company to evaluate and define ″sustainable solutions″ across its broad portfolio of agricultural products.

• How we are addressing food waste and food loss through the products we provide our customers, strategic partnerships and in the way we serve our communities.

• Collaborative partnerships with industry and educational programs to empower growers, agricultural professionals and students with the knowledge and skills needed to implement sustainable practices.

• Progress toward Valent’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workforce and initiatives that promote gender equality in the agricultural industry.
