The US EPA is to allow six months for the depletion of stocks of the organophosphate insecticide, disulfoton, with uses that were due to be phased out in 2005. The Agency has acknowledged the receipt of formal cancellation requests from the registrant, Bayer CropScience, for disulfoton on wheat and barley. The cancellations also cover the granular formulation, Di-Syston 15G, for broccoli and ornamentals and the emulsifiable concentrate, Di-Syston 8EC, for potatoes. Bayer decided to drop most uses of Di-Syston 15G in 2005.
