Bayer CropScience has signed a long-term manufacturing agreement for the supply of active ingredients with the Indian agrochemical and pharmaceutical outsourcing company, Hikal (Mumbai). Hikal has set up a new plant at Taloja for this purpose and expects to start supplies in the second half of 2008. Hikals crop protection sales amounted to Rs 1,368 million ($33.6 million) in the year ended March 31st 2007. The outsourcing agreement is part of Bayers -global strategy", according to the companys head of industrial operations, Dr Wolfgang Welter.
