UK pest control company Exosect (Winchester, Hampshire) has received approval for its pheromone, Exosex CM, in Belgium. Following the registration, the company entered into a distribution agreement with Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI). "This [Exosex CM] environmentally conscious system will support Makhteshim's IPM programme and importantly provide support to growers for whom pesticide residue levels are a key issue," says MAI's Ton Besseling. The product is for the control of codling moths (Cydia pomonella) on apples and pears and will be sold as Exomone C in Belgium. Exosect plans to expand its Exosex registrations across Europe.
