Arysta LifeScience South Africa acquires Tsunami

Arysta LifeScience South Africa reported it has completed its previously announced acquisition of selected assets of Tsunami Plant Protection and the business and selected assets of Tsunami Crop Care. The transaction received approval from the Republic of South Africa (RSA) Competition Commission on 31 March, 2010.

"Arysta LifeScience has evolved into a high-performance company by maintaining its focus on identifying innovative products and formulations and ensuring that the farmers in high growth markets have access to these products,” said Wayne Hewett, president and CEO, Arysta LifeScience Corporation. “Combining our global strength with the tremendous capabilities of Tsunami, we will more effectively provide farmers and distributors in South Africa with an expanded selection of products and effective solutions that deliver on our customer-focused objectives.”

As one of the few major agrochemical companies with significant production facilities on the African continent, Arysta LifeScience South Africa opened a state-of-the-art, ISO 9000-certified liquid formulation facility in Canelands, just north of Durban, in 2007. The facility was expanded to meet increasing demand in 2009. The plant also is equipped with waterdispersible granule (WDG) technology, which is especially beneficial to the management practices of farmers.
