EPA has agreed to re-open the comment period on four proposed efficacy test guidelines for public health-related antimicrobial pesticide products. The comment period originally closed on March 29, 2010. The Agency received, and is granting, a request to extend the comment period 60 days to allow more time for additional public comments. The issuance of this Federal Register Notice reopens the comment period until June 27, 2010.
These guidelines address efficacy testing for antimicrobial agents intended to be used on hard, inanimate, environmental surfaces, and that bear label claims as sterilants, disinfectants or sanitizers. Data from these studies are used to support the labeling claims for public health-related antimicrobial agents.
