According to data from research firm dmrkynetec, more preemergence herbicide applications in 2009 included a flumioxazin-based product than any other active ingredient.

Jamie Nielson, Valent flumioxazin brand manager, said the strong surge in grower adoption is due to weed shifts that have occurred in the Roundup Ready® soybean system.

"Historically growers needed strong grass products so they used Prowl and Treflan.
