The Haryana Agriculture Department has decided to withdraw the permission granted by it to Devi Crop Sciences, Madurai to sell their bio-product, Boom Flower for use on tomato crop.
While informing this here today, a spokesman of the department said the decision was taken because the company had been found involved in unethical trade practices and violating of guidelines of the department.
He said the firm was allowed to sell its product, Boom Flower for use only on tomato crop in the state for a period of two years on the basis of recommendations of Ch Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU), Hisar. However, the company was found selling the product for all other crops also for which its efficacy was not got tested by the company from CCS HAU, Hisar, he added.
The spokesman advised the farmers to use all agricultural, inputs including bio-products and insecticides as per the instructions/recommendations given on their leaflets/packagings. The farmers should also take receipts or cash memos for every purchase of agricultural inputs effected by them, so that the same could be used by them as a proof for submission of claims in the consumer forum, in case their crops were damaged by the use of the said input.
