Syngenta names industry veteran to lead biotechnology R&D

Swiss agribusiness firm Syngenta has tabbed a Bayer CropScience veteran to head its global biotechnology research and development.
Michiel van Lookeren Campagne, as president of Syngenta Biotechnology, will be based at the firm’s North American headquarters in Research Triangle Park. In addition to overseeing Syngenta’s RTP facilities, he will also lead the firm’s biotechnology operations located in Beijing, China.
Van Lookeren Campagne was previously head of bioscience research at Bayer CropScience.
Syngenta employs more than 400 in RTP. The company opened biotechnology operations last year in Beijing, where Syngenta employs more than 70.
