Bayer CropScience is investing in facilities, germplasm, people, procedures and processes. Lloyd McCall, Head of North American Soybean Breeding with Bayer CropScience said it is a very exciting time.
“Our goal is to offer a full array of products so farmers all have solutions to the problems that arise for them. Our entrance into the soybean seed business is relatively new, but we’ve made a firm commitment to be able to offer this as one of the components of everything else that we have and to bring to our customer growers the very best solutions that are available. We are combining seed along with crop protection products and trying to meet everyone’s needs in the very best possible manner.”
McCall said Bayer CropScience became a leader in the global market in cotton seed in a very short time by focusing on growers and customers. He said they have taken a lot of what they learned in cotton and applied to the soybean business.
