The herbicide Totril has been re-approved for use on leeks, onions, garlic and shallots.
Bayer, which produced Totril, worked with the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) to get it back on the list of approved substances after the CRD announced plans earlier this year to subject it to a phased revocation.
The revocation was announced after the CRD missed its deadline to re-evaluate the product as is mandatory under European regulations. However, the CRD has now deemed the product to be fine and has worked with Bayer on a useful change to the label.
