FCI sources report that another wave of new standards may be on the verge of launching in China, causing ag-chem suppliers and other industries to feel pressure to move product quickly.
Sources report that the Chinese government is preparing to introduce new standards on exports form China, which include chemicals. Ag-chem suppliers are using all their resources to get as much product shipped out of the country as possible before the new year.
According to one source, the new "quality program" is about 90% certain to happen, and has many of the manufacturers worried of more shut-downs. Part of the reason for the new standards has been the presence of dangerous substances, such as lead paint, contaminating products sent to the US.
