The ISO Technical Committee on Common Names for Pesticides has provisionally approved 6 new active ingredients common names in October 2014, according to the Compendium of Pesticide Common Names (CPCN). They are kappa-bifenthrin, broflanilide, dicloromezotiaz, dipymetitrone, pyraziflumid and kappa-tefluthrin.
Kappa-bifenthrin is a single isomer of the pyrethroid insecticide bifenthrin from Cheminova, and kappa-tefluthrin, another active ingredient from this company, is single isomer of the pyrethroid insecticide tefluthrin.
Broflanilide is a diamide insecticide from Mitsui Chemicals Agro Inc., being developed under the code MCI-8007.
Dicloromezotiaz is a zwitterionic insecticide from E. I. du Pont de Nemours, being developed under the code DPX-RDS63.
Dipymetitrone is a novel fungicide from Bayer CropScience, being developed under the code BCS-BB98685.
Pyraziflumid is an anilide fungicide from Nihon Nohyaku Co. Ltd., being developed under the code NNF-0721.
