Edmonton’s Innovotech Inc. has been given permission by Health Canada to conduct large-scale field trials of its bacteria-fighting seed treatment Agress.
“These large-scale field trials give us an opportunity to test Agress on a commercial scale that would be used by a grower,” product manager Damian Sowa said Monday.
The trials should validate the small-plot test results that showed Agress is a superior replacement for Streptomycin in bacterial bean infestations, he said.
Innovotech plans to expand applications of Agress to cover the major North American crops and additional disease classes, he added.
