Following on from the crystallisation problems seen with some batches of the fungicide Fandango this spring, manufacturer Bayer CropScience is recalling all unused product from the market at the end of the 2009 usage season.
The company is asking farmers to return any unopened cans of Fandango to their supplier at the end of the spraying season - dates to be confirmed shortly.
Bayer is currently working to identify the cause of the crystal/sedimentation issue.
“Bayer CropScience understands the importance of Fandango, particularly as a valuable tool in barley production, and will work hard to resolve the issues experienced this season,” says the company’s Clive Rainbird.
“Our aim is for this investigation to be concluded by autumn 2009, so that market confidence can be restored in time for planning for spring 2010. Clearly, we would like to apologise again to those growers affected.”
